Trek from Thansing (12,930 ft) – Lamuney (13,700 ft) (2 hrs)

Cherish the most relaxed day of the Goecha la trek which takes around 2 hrs to reach Lamuney. About half an hour from Lamuney, over a steep rocky trail lies the beautiful Samiti Lake. There is a good chance of spotting mountain goats and blue birds on the lakeside. Camping is not permitted by the lake because of religious reasons. After losing ourselves at this scenic beauty, we head back to our camps at Lamuney. Overnight stays at Lamuney.

Trek from Lamuney (13,700 ft) – Goecha la (16,207 ft) and back to Kokchurang (12,100 ft) (10-12 hrs)

This is the day which is bound to be full of rewards for all the hard work, time, and efforts that this trek has drawn out of you. The trek to the rarefied climes of the Goecha la is rewarded with unmatched views of the mighty East Ridge of Kanchenjunga high above the Talung Glacier as well as views of the high ridges and peaks that enclose the upper Prek Valley. Looking north, there is a giant mountain region yet to explore, but for now the Goecha la is as far as you are permitted to go. The pass is commonly shrouded in mist and cloud not long after sunrise, so an early start is necessary. The trail heads along the far side of the lake and through moraine before crossing a sandy section alongside the Unlashing Glacier. From here, you can see the pass at the head of the valley. However, the trek through the lateral earth is tiring – more so if there has been a recent snowfall. The Goecha la is marked with fluttering, colorful prayer flags, framing the peak of Kanchenjunga.

Lead the same trek towards Lamuney and then move forwards to reach the destination for the day- Kokchurang. You can choose to set up your tent near the bank of the river or you can also reside in the trekkers hut.

A team of travellers, giving one one sec moments, so energectic, knows how to fill one one sec, not a leaving a single 'Safari' in boredom. With these Safarnami's, you try to be silent and bored,....hell no you can't be. Even if you are a great introvert, your conscious will attract you to join their peacefull crezzies.
